To guide, direct and control physical development in the FCT.
To provide effective, open, transparent and professional service in a manner to ensure that all development within the FCT, conforms to the provisions, principles and tenets of the Abuja Master Plan and relevant adopted policies.
OUR MANDATE
The Department of Development Control is the organ of the FCT Administration that is saddled with the responsibility of monitoring and ensuring compliance with all development guidelines, largely, the Abuja Master Plan and the FCT Regional Development Plan as conceived by the founding fathers before 1979. The Development Control was a Division under the Department of Planning and Survey before it became a full-fledged Department of its own in 2002.
ABUJA NATIONAL STADIUM
Moshood Abiola National Stadium (formerly known as National Stadium, Abuja) is a multipurpose national sports stadium located in Abuja, in the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria. The stadium serves as a home to the Nigerian national football team, as well as a center for various social, cultural, and religious events. The Federal Government of Nigeria approved the contract for the construction of the National Stadium complex and Games Village on 18 July 2000. The stadium was constructed to host the 8th All Africa Games which took place in October 2003. On 12 June 2019, President Muhammadu Buhari announced the change of the name of the National Stadium, Abuja to Moshood Abiola National Stadium in honour of former Nigerian politician chief M.K.O Abiola.[2] President Buhari made this pronouncement during his speech at the Democracy Day celebration on Wednesday at the Eagle Square, Abuja
AMMC
Abuja Metropolitan Management Agency (AMMA) was created in November, 2005 with the aim of instituting sustainable structures for effective management and gradual restoration of the Federal Capital Territory. However, on 6th, September 2007, the name of the Agency was changed to Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, AMMC .
FCT NEW MINISTER
Large crowd of supporters and praise singers on Monday morning storm the FCTA Secretariat located in Garki Area 11 to welcome the newly sworn-in Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesome Wike.
The over ten groups which took over Kapital Street where the FCTA secretariat is located represented various ethnic groups across the country.

DEMOLITION
An illegal market known as "Kasuwan Dare," which was believed to be a hideout for hoodlums and drug dealers in Asokoro, Abuja, has been demolished by officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA). The market was situated on Hassan Musa Katsina Street, near Kpaduma II in Asokoro Extension.
Mr Mukhtar Galadima, the Director of the Department of Development Control, noted that the illegal market was becoming a threat to the area's residents and passerby. He added that despite relentless efforts by the FCT administration to sanitize the area, it was still turned into a haven for criminal activities.
