FCTA set to establish FCT University of Technology
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has announced its plans to establish the FCT University of Technology in Abuja. This move is aimed at increasing access to tertiary education and decongesting the FCT College of Education in Zuba.
Dr. Danlami Hayyo, the Mandate Secretary of the Education Secretariat, FCTA, revealed this information during the inauguration of Deans, Directors, Head of Departments, Chairmen, and members of Standing Committees of the College of Education in Zuba.
Hayyo stressed that education is one of the priority sectors of the current administration, and the FCTA education secretariat is committed to supporting the government's education agenda. He noted that the establishment of the FCT University of Technology will help to reduce the pressure at the college, and if possible, a polytechnic will also be established to accommodate the large number of youths seeking tertiary education in FCT.
Hayyo also pledged to improve the funding for the FCT College of Education in Zuba to enhance the institution's infrastructure and critical facilities.
